Why do IC Markets keep closing my trades without any notice at all? Recently, my position for WTI (Crude Oil) was closed automatically without any prior notice. When I ask customer service about it, they said the particular WTI Contract has EXPIRED and there are no rollovers. While I might understand the conditions, it just surprised me that they didn't send any notifications beforehand. I was devastated because I have a long-term plan, and now all of that has gone under the drain.
I am absolutely disappointed in IC markets. I have been trading with them for years and these days they have been nothing but disappointing me. I was trading during high-impact news. Suddenly, I noticed that the price moved 560 points in one direction and 540 point in the opposite direction from the opening price within a minute, which is totally normal on a high volatility news event. But, wait, it doesn't stop there. The next morning, I open the chart and It showed me a move of 229 points in one direction and then 689 points in the opposite direction of the opening price. Which is completely different than the night before.
Hey, I haven't been able to log in to my account for a week! I already contacted customer service but they haven't responded yet. Which frustrates me a lot since I have open positions.
I don't understand what's the point of having a chat room if y'all not gonna answer quickly. I also tried the email but I am not sure if they even checked at all.
I know that you guys have TONS of traders here, but I am one of them too. I don't trade much I know, but that shouldn't be why y'all haven't answered my questions, right?
what I really hate from IC Markets is the price slippage. Unfortunately, it happens all the time! Recently it also happened when I was trading XAUUSD as well as BTC/USD. It didn't stop there! Oh, no, sir, it gets worse! They d it from the chart after a period of time!! I talk to customer service who claim they didn't know anything. I don't care, I just want them to do something. Which makes me go 'Karen' on them and I understand if they don't appreciate it. But that was a lot of money we're talking about.
While I truly believe that IC Markets has one of the best spreads among all of the other brokers out there, the slippage can truly be bad. Sometimes I can be slipped multiple times from 10-30 points. It is really bad compared to any other brokers that I have tried before. Of course, I contacted customer service. But, they are;t giving any help at all. They said it was because of the market's conditions. Which is a bit odd considering the market was pretty okay at the time. Was it the latency? I have no idea, but it is disappointing.
I am very disappointed with how they handle my order. The story was, I place an order in EUR/USD pair with pending order where I put stop loss & take profit (I always care about these things, I never forget). However, once my order fills the stop loss is removed, causing me to lose more than 25% of my account. Naturally, I contacted them, but they said I didn't have a stop loss! What an absolute lie! I never forget about these things. They were very adamant so I decided to quit and leave this broker. Never again!
After using this broker for a while I realize that there is huge slippage which is affecting all my trades. This is getting worse for me since I am using an expert advisor. Sometimes the position of the price opening will is wrong and the closing price will be wrong, in this case I mean that both are not the same as I requested. This has caused so many issues regarding my trading and I ended up losing a lot.
Another issue I experience is the spread. I trade with them because IC Markets said that they have low spread trading yadda yadda. But, in reality, I often experience a bigger spread than what it promised in the beginning. The differences sometimes reach more than 5 dollars. This has made some of my winning trades hit the stop loss. I don't know if this is a technical error or not, but the fact that it happened a lot has made me doubt it. I even have trust issues now because of it.

So, my money keeps getting stuck and I can't get it out for some reason. However, this broker just keeps making claims and blaming my bank for it. That isn't true because my other broker can do the transaction just fine. So it's definitely their fault. They still didn't do anything even after I told them about it. They just keep saying the same thing over and over again it's frustating.

They have been very lazy lately and I feel like their service has gotten worse as well. For example, I recently started checking my MT4 account again and I was surprised to find that everything has become so unorganized! In fact, I have to reprogram everything again! I don't know why this is happening but it is certainly very annoying. I have to spend my spare time fixing my account when I can use it for analyzing and researching. This is really wastefull! Not to mention the customer service was unresponsive when I talk about it.

I had the worst experience with the IC market last week. The story was, that I open a position in the XAU/USD. I think it was around 6 PM my time and I notice that the price charts didn't move at all. Which is odd since I always checked in a small time frame. I asked IC markets they told me it’s expired and I cannot hold it. I was stunned because it was my life-saving money. It is odd since this has never happened before! I complained but they did nothing. They use to be an honest broker, but I guess that changes now.
