10 Brokers to Trade with Autochartist

Dec 4, 2020   3993
Autochartist is a great tool for traders because it can scan the market and help to interpret chart patterns automatically. These 10 brokers provide easy access to Autochartist.

When it comes to forex trading, there is a wide variety of strategies and methods that you can choose based on your preference. One of those methods is charting, and the individual analyzing charts to predict the next price movements is called a chartist.

Essentially, a chartist believes that the price movement is not random and can be predicted by studying the charts and past trends. For instance, a chartist would search for head and shoulder patterns and resistance and then analyze it further with the rest of the chart. This method is part of the technical analysis in forex trading because they don't use fundamental aspects in their calculations (although some combine the two). Therefore, a chartist can also be referred to as a "technical analyst".

In practice, sometimes charting can be an overwhelming task for traders because price charts are not easy to read, especially if traders must analyze them manually. However, there is one tool called Autochartist that could help traders with such issues.

Autochartist offers a unique technology that could scan the market automatically while at the same time interpret it to produce a full analysis of the charts. With chart patterns provided as its main analysis offering, Autochartist also serves some other technical tools such as horizontal levels, Fibonacci patterns, consecutive candles, alert to extreme changes, volatility analysis, as well as macro-economic analysis, and fundamental analysis for stock trading.

Autochartist at a Glance

Since its first launch in 2004, Autochartist has received many praises and recognitions from traders across the globe. The company behind it is basically a technical analysis provider that specifically scans the market's price movements and identifies unique patterns in the charts. It covers the currency market as well as the commodity and stock market, so traders with more than one tradeable product can use this tool easily.

There are various features offered by Autochartist, such as:

  • Fibonacci analysis.
  • Identification of support and resistance levels.
  • Volatility analysis to help traders determine Stop Loss and Take Profit.
  • Updated market news.
  • Risk calculator to measure risk potential in the market.
  • Price action monitor to scan candlestick signals.
  • Macro-economic analysis.

To improve the quality of its service, Autochartist collaborates with various well-known trading technology providers such as Advanced Markets, Econoday, TradeToolsFx, MetaQuotes, Spotware, TechFinancials, SpotOption. The last four names are platform providers that allow Autochartist to be integrated into a wide option of trading platforms, including MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, and cTrader.

It is worth noting that Autochartist's integration with MetaTrader platforms didn't happen until 2010. For MT4 and MT5 users, the market scanner would look something like this:

It offers a simple but complete display of data that every trader can discern at their disposal. Aside from showing what patterns are appearing on the chart, Autochartist signals can work across many instruments and various time frames all at once.

List of Forex Brokers Providing Free Access to Autochartist

Currently, traders who want to use the full Autochartist service are charged some fees. Free access to this tool is provided by some brokers that have exclusive partnerships with Autochartist. Thus, traders can just register with one of the said brokers if they want to try trading with Autochartist for free. Here are 10 examples of them:

1. IC Markets

This Australian broker is often referred to as the best-in-class ECN broker. Indeed, as one of the top brokers out there, IC Markets only wants the best for its traders. Not only offering MetaTrader and cTrader platforms, the broker is known to provide reliable raw spreads for its clients.

When it comes to Autochartist, IC Markets provides free access to the signals through MT4 and MT5 plugins. IC Markets traders will also receive an email every now and then about a review of the market movements in the last 24-28 hours. That way, traders can always keep up with the market situation and changes even when they're not always in front of the computer.

If you want to use the Autochartist facility, you only need to register an account on the IC Markets' official website. Bear in mind that if you register a live account, you must fulfill the deposit requirements to get free access.

2. InstaForex

A brokerage geared toward retail traders, InstaForex is well-known for its accommodative trading conditions since its establishment. In fact, it's one of the first brokers offering fixed spread accounts as well as providing cent currencies in the market.

InstaForex has been providing free access to Autochartist for its clients since 2014. In this broker, access can be obtained very quickly. Just by opening a Demo Account, traders can enjoy the Autochartist features in their trading platforms (MetaTrader 4). Besides, InstaForex doesn't require any minimum deposit for traders to acquire free Autochartist signals. You only need to register in InstaForex and open an account by following the broker's guidelines. Then you can log in on the Autochartist website for InstaForex by using your trading account. To help you even further, InstaForex provides tutorial videos and articles about Autochartist.

3. OctaFX

Known for its competitive spreads and a wide range of platforms, OctaFX is an experienced player who has expanded to multiple regions, hence its popularity among individual traders. The broker used to accept ultra-low minimum deposits, but the requirement is later changed to accommodate ECN trading conditions.

Known as a scalping-friendly broker, it only makes sense for OctaFX to optimize its service by providing superior technical analysis tools. Apart from offering built-in MetaTrader and cTrader indicators, the broker also offers free Autochartist analyses for its clients. This facility is only available as a plugin so traders can access Autochartist only through MetaTrader 4 platform. Before installing the software, you must register an account in OctaFX and follow their guidelines. For beginners, OctaFX provides an informative guide on using the market scanner.

4. OANDA

Autochartist is one of the most recommended features in OANDA's technical analysis tools. This top-rated broker provides free access to the basic Autochartist features and complementary tools such as the Autochartist API and Signal Visualizer. Regarding the format, OANDA offers the Autochartist tool as a plugin.

The signal visualizer is very interesting because not all brokers have this facility. It can simulate the use of Autochartist on a real-time chart. So with this tool, you can easily recognize the benefits of free Autochartist signals before using the plugin version on the MT4 platform.

5. HF Markets

Like in the previously mentioned brokers, the Autochartist in HF Markets is entirely free and can be installed on MT4. But to get free access, you must register an account and meet the minimum deposit requirements. You also need to maintain your balance at a certain amount in order to continually subscribe to Autochartist analysis.

Apart from Autochartist, HF Markets also offers some other tools, namely an economic calendar, One Click Trading, mobile application, VPS, Live Chart, Trader's Board, real-time news supported by FXStreet, and Auto Trading MQL5.

6. Pepperstone

In general, Pepperstone provides a complete package for Autochartist analysis. Not only making Autochartist available for MT4, Pepperstone gives access to the tool for its demo web-based platform. In Pepperstone, the free Autochartist facility is part of the technical assistance for clients and is presented alongside the Daily Market Reports. The report features up-to-date market info and trading opportunities that can be received regularly via email.

7. ThinkMarkets

ThinkMarkets is an Australian broker with free access to the Autochartist. However, unlike the other two Australian brokers (IC Markets and Pepperstone), ThinkMarkets limits its free Autochartist access to only MetaTrader platforms for Standard account users. To open an account in ThinkMarkets, traders are not required to deposit a certain amount of money. However, that condition only applies to the Standard account. The other account, ThinkZero, allows free access to Autochartist signals on all platforms but requires a $500 minimum operating balance.

8. Tickmill

Tickmill is a reputable broker under the regulation of the FCA (UK) and FSA (Seychelles). Although it is widely known to be simple and suitable for scalpers, Tickmill offers quite a wide variety of trading tools, including access to Myfxbook auto trading and Autochartist signals.

Compared to the other brokers above, Tickmill is most similar to Pepperstone and InstaForex for it provides access to Autochartist via the web app. This facility is beneficial for traders because it allows traders to get Autochartist analysis from any browser, making it more flexible. Unfortunately, Tickmill only gives access to live account holders.

9. Admiral Markets

Admiral Markets is one of the brokers that offer Autochartist for free in a real sense. Not only allowing traders to access Autochartist MT4 and web for demo and live accounts, but this broker also provides a free 30-day Autochartist trial. Admiral Markets actually has its own Wave analysis tool. It makes Autochartist access an extra technical tool to signify the broker's commitment to providing the best analytical tools for clients.

10. Saxo Bank

Major brokers like Saxo Bank also collaborate with Autochartist. Since the banking-licensed broker operates its trading activities via an in-house platform, free Autochartist is not available in a standard plugin for MT4. Instead, this tool is integrated into the Saxo Bank trading platform: Saxo Trader Go. As the tool is already integrated, traders don't have to install any extra plugins. You only have to activate the "Signal" option on the platform to access Autochartist signals.

The Autochartist is technically accessible for all Saxo Bank traders, including the retail ones. However, this facility is not available for forex demo accounts. You have to open a live account with a minimum deposit of $10,000 to get free access.

Conclusion

Based on the explanation above, we can see that Autochartist has reached a vast amount of traders through various types of brokers, from the beginner-friendly InstaForex to the major ones like Saxo Bank. These brokers provide free access to Autochartist for their clients, each with different conditions and requirements.

As a trader, it might be hard to narrow down the wide ion of brokers because all of them provide one similar feature: free access to Autochartist. However, remember that apart from this facility, there are a series of other things that must be considered, such as commission fees, spreads, customer support, etc.

For me, the Autochartist only an additional tool to help us to analysing forex markets technically. So, never rely on it too much. Sometimes, I used Autochartist to look for a new trading opportunities but then I do my own analysis before opening position.

James Lawrence: I think it's the same as other trading tools. Autochartist more often shows new trading opportunities. For analysis, you still have to manually confirm trading signals from Autochartist.

Although I do not use Autochartist directly, I am very helped by the trading news feature provided. In my opinion, trading news from Autochartist releases faster than other app news portals. This makes it easier for me to analyze the market in advance.

Hey, I'd like to know if Autochartist is more geared towards technical analysis or fundamental analysis. The article mentioned that Autochartist utilizes unique technology to automatically scan and interpret the market, providing a comprehensive analysis of charts. Additionally, Autochartist includes news in its offerings. Would it be accurate to say that updated market news falls under fundamental analysis?

As a trader with a focus on fundamentals, is it worthwhile to use Autochartist? I'm aware that using Autochartist may involve adhering to terms and conditions imposed by the broker, even though the tool is free.

Hello! From what I understand, Autochartist primarily centers on technical analysis, employing advanced technology to automatically scan and interpret the market, resulting in a comprehensive chart analysis. Despite including news updates, the tool leans more towards technical analysis.

For traders inclined towards fundamental analysis, using Autochartist might offer some advantages, particularly with the added market news updates. However, since market news is available not only through Autochartist but also elsewhere, I believe it may not be worthwhile to use Autochartist exclusively. Nevertheless, it's essential, as you previously mentioned, to take into account the terms and conditions set by your broker for Autochartist usage. Despite the tool being free, being mindful of and adhering to any applicable terms and conditions is crucial for a seamless and well-informed trading experience.
