After Thought

Spreads can influence how much profit and loss one might get. It's best if you choose the best broker with a low spread account. However, you need to be careful when you choose. A bad broker might manipulate their spreads unbeknownst to their clients. This is not the same as floating spreads where it changes in accordance with the market volatility.

To avoid broker cheats, make sure you choose reputable brokers that have been regulated by a governing body in the area. If you are an Australian-based trader, you can consider choosing one of the brokers mentioned above.

I would recommend checking on the spread before choosing brokers. Especially if you are a scalper or barely start trading, you want a tight spread.

As a new trader, I always look for a broker with the lowest spread. There is nothing more reassuring without having to worry about recurring trading costs.

I had the opportunity of not checking the spread before trading. Oh boy, I wasn't ready for the surprise. But I learned from my mistake and slowly getting better (hopefully).

Is low spread better than raw spread? Or is it the same thing?

Low spread is important, but I personally would check other features as well. For example, what is the minimum deposits, of if there are any other fees (commissions, etc)

I just started scalping. I always go for low spread, but maybe I should consider raw spread? I don't really know how different it would feel and now kind of curious.
