Hmm...so, Vantage raw account commission fees are only $6 per round turn, huh? I think it's a pretty good deal all things considered. The minimum deposits seem pretty affordable too. Perhaps I should consider them when I am looking for a raw account next time.

Juli Hatch: What does $6 per spin commission mean? Also, Vantage's raw accounts are beginner-friendly. From what I've read, the account only charges 0.0 spreads. And while it's a great deal for beginners, the standard account doesn't require you to pay any commissions, but the spreads are higher, starting at 1 pip. So, Raw account has commission and Standard account doesn't charge commission.
Oh, Vantage's Raw and Standard accounts are the best for my money, so it's so confusing to choose this one. The minimum deposit is just $50 and you can start to trade with Vantage.

Raw account at Vantage has commissions per round-turn. It mean when you entry open position either at Long or Short, you will get charged a half of the total commissions that needed. In case if Vantage Raw Account has $6 commission, you will get charged by $3 and if you close your order, you will getting charged by another $3. It is called commissions round turn based. And you will getting charged every you entry position.
Meanwhile, I have seen the standard account at Vantage. And the spread actually fixed spread that start from 1 pip. It means there is some currency that only 1 pip spread. Read the Vantage review here.
In my opinion, for beginner, after demo account, you can open standard account because there is no commission with fixed spread. So, it is easier to target your profit without need to think about how much spread that might be charged.

It's nice to know all the trading costs of each account in this broker. Most people only care about the spreads that they forget there are other costs. Commissions and minimum deposits are only a few examples. Hopefully, more people would realize this soon.

I am very confused and scratching my head about the transaction costs associated with forex, especially the terrible spreads and high fees. Every night, I think, my trading always getting high charge even I don't entry new trading anymore. Finally, I don't understand why brokers have to charge so much commission. Traders end up losing more than they win. It's very frustrating for me and I think another beginner trader like me also frustate!

I think you should be aware of transaction costs that may be incurred. The main fees for me are Spreads, commissions and swap rates.
Spread is the cost calculated based on the pips specified in the trading terms by the broker. Commissions are costs charged based on trading volume or broker terms. And the swap rate, which to me represents the highest transaction cost, is the cost you have to pay because the listing is open until the next day.

Why broker charge you? Because they took profit from this cost in order to paid their cost operation too. And remember, you cannot trade at Forex without brokers, so for the feedback, you paid them for their service.

Malinda Urbina: I believe you have an unlimited amount of time to use a Vantage demo account. At least that is what they said on the official websites. But, I think you have to confirm it with customer service. Unfortunately, they didn't list their virtual funds on the official websites. Honestly, I haven't tried it myself, but a lot of fellow traders are using it as a strategy backtest platforms.

Rolando Bradley: I agree with you, As for the demo account, some brokers will close the demo account if you do not trade for a while or if your virtual balance reaches $0. I've run into these two things all the time, so if the broker said there is no time limit used on the demo account, chances are the broker has this rule. You should ask customer service first. To be honest, opening a new demo account is a pain as it also erases all the trading history of the old demo account. And when your old account is d, you can't follow the strategy and identify what is wrong with the strategy.

Demo accounts are basically free to trade so I don't think they need to expire and there is meaningless to have an expired policy because there is no transaction at all, right? Wendy: Actually, I don't really know why the demo account expires, but one thing I'm sure about the downside of an expired demo account is that you have to sign up again or you have to contact customer support order to reactivate your demo account. However, if you do not reactivate your demo account, your demo account will be d. SO, in fact, the expired demo account can work again.
Back to the expired demo account, if you haven't reactivated your demo account it will be d and all your demo account's trading logs and journal will also be d. Meanwhile, the advantage of a demo account is that there is no expiration date, you don't have to reactivate the account and your trading journal is always there. From the info above, I think Vantage is quite interesting to be tried. I love the facts that broker provide Swap free account for Islamic trader, so I'll go for it. The only things that bother my mind is about the additional features. Is there any copytrading or trading signal facilities? As a busy mom, I do forex trading in my spare time so I can't stay in front of screen for too long. It would be very useful if I can put capital to some account manager.

is it me or i think all forex broker ECN accounts not just Vantage have higher commission than others. I mean there are even other standard accounts that don't charge commission although I admit the spreads are higher than ECN accounts.
And I am not sure about the difference between STP account and ECN account other than spread and commission. And I think, beginners like me, will be confused when choosing between STP and ECN accounts. Spreads vary widely, lower spreads mean higher commissions and higher spreads mean lower or even no commissions. What is the best trading style that can match and can put pressure on trading fees? Panji: You are right that spreads are high, but commissions are low and vice versa. This is all about the profit a broker can make. As you know, spreads and commissions are the profit of a broker. Low spreads should charge high commissions, while low commissions should have high spreads. This is the broker's policy as they want to avoid losses or being minus because their operational cost is higher than the profit. So, it is very normal to broker to charge higher commission at ECN Account and since the ECN account offer transparency of Forex Market, the spread can't be higher because ECN also show the real spread in the market.

Let's go back to the beginning of the article, where it mentions that Vantage offers an unlimited demo account. This got me thinking, do other brokers not offer an unlimited demo account? Are there any time limits on demo accounts offered by other brokers? If so, why do demo accounts have limited time?
