More than a thousand refugees are in need of immediate humanitarian support. XM and UNHCR collaborate to help them find a better life.

Forex and CFD broker, XM, is collaborating with UNHCR in supporting the National Emergency Response Mechanism (NERM) which protects unaccompanied refugee children in Greece. Since March 2022, more than 6,000 children have entered Greece due to the Ukraine crisis, making the existence of NERM even more necessary.

NERM provides a 24/7 telephone hotline in multiple languages, including Ukrainian and Russian, to receive referrals for unaccompanied children living in precarious conditions.

Once a child is tracked down, the team will approach them to provide food, medical care, and other needed assistance. A child is placed in an emergency shelter for 3 weeks so that social workers can develop a plan according to their interests. After that, the children were transferred to long-term accommodation. The ASIC-regulated company continues to support this important service with donations to create a better place for those who have been forced to leave their homes.

XM Helped Young Refugees in Cyprus

Apart from Greece, XM's CSR program also extends to Cyprus, where it provides basic needs for several hundred unaccompanied young refugees living in the Pournara Reception Center in Cyprus. The center in Pournara acts as the first reception and registration center for refugees arriving in Cyprus. Among them are orphans and children who have to leave their families. There are more than 700 young refugees living in various asylums on the island.
