FXCM Group's UK and Cyprus branches have changed their names to Stratos Markets and Stratos Europe.

To strengthen its asset offering in the UK, the UK branch of FXCM unveiled its name change to Stratos Markets Limited on 10 September 2023. This change underscores its goals after changing the name of FXCM's Cyprus-based business, FXCM EU Ltd, to Stratos Europe Ltd in a broader rebranding strategy for its European subsidiaries.

FXCM

FXCM Group originates from Global Brokerage Inc., now defunct and declared bankruptcy in 2017. Founded in 1999, the broker continues to grow, offering a commission-free trading platform, strict financial standards, and the best online trading experience. Recent changes in Europe suggest a rebranding effort is underway.

"The name change to Stratos is part of the company's restructuring to increase flexibility. FXCM will continue to operate as a subsidiary of Stratos, similar to how Google operates under Alphabet Inc.," commented FXCM.

According to its official website, FXCM UK claims Stratos Markets Limited to be responsible for trading services and operating subsidiaries within the FXCM group. However, the company obtained a license from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under its previous name, registration number 217689. Likewise, in Cyprus, the former FXCM EU Ltd is now known as Stratos Europe Ltd.

Additionally, FXCM expands the reach of its platforms and services through strategic alliances. FXCM's institutional arm, FXCM Pro, recently signed an integral partnership with Tools for Brokers (TFB), a technology provider focused on integrated trading platforms, including  MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5.
