Bridget Messer Steps Down as IG Group's Executive Director - IG Broker News

Oct 5, 2021
IG Group announced that its CCO and Executive Director, Bridget Messer steps down from the role and parts ways with the company after 16 years.

The IG Group eventually had to part ways with the CCO and its executive director, Bridget Messer. Messer has spent 16 years working with the British broker. Previously, she had announced her intention to step down in June due to family reasons.

At the time, the spread betting and CFD broker said Messer had ended her three-month role as director on 22nd September, the day of the AGM of the FTSE 250 listed company.

Messer’s 16 Years in IG Group

However, Messer has more than two decades of experience in the financial industry and has successfully held various key positions within IG. Initially, Messer started her career as head of regulation and legal products, as well as legal advisor to IG in 2005.

Later, Messer immediately changed positions to be Chief Compliance Officer and company secretary. Over the course of her long career, she progressed through several senior roles, most recently holding the position of CCO (Chief Commercial Officer) to deal directly with the Chief Executive.

Prior to joining IG, Messer already had tremendous experience holding a lawyer position at Deutsche Bank. Messer has also worked as a corporate attorney at Corrs Chambers Westgarth Lawyers, Australia.

IG Group CEO, June Felix said that Messer has made an invaluable contribution to the company during her tenure. Her knowledge of commercial and regulatory issues, as well as her role in building values and culture help driving the success of IG Group. The company is very grateful to Messer for her dedication and wishes her the best.

IG apps sometimes unresponsive which result me cost more money. They need to broad their data research and news in relation to trades feeds.

I wanted to trade Forex on the MT4 platform, but it is not possible to set pending orders close to the market price. For some cross pairs, pending orders must be a minimum of 20 pips away from market price! I always trade with pending orders so I was forced to change broker.

I do not recommend using IG and moved to another platform. The app flicker and jams on daily basis making all trades impossibles and blocked for days as slow and even failure to respond or return scheduled call. Statement is reporting false activities and numbers are going all over the place.

Overall my experience with IG was positive. The only issue I had was when trying to withdraw funds from my ISA through the app. It gave conflicting information and I lost confidence in it. A call to the help desk cleared it up and Sharath was very helpful.
