I know that IC Markets is an Australian broker, so I was expecting them to be regulated by ASIC. But then I checked on their websites and I was surprised to find out that they are also regulated by CySEC as well. While it's always good to have brokerages that have been regulated by multiple bodies, it got me thinking. Since I don't live in Australia, does it mean that my account will be assign under CySEC? If yes, then what are the differences?

International Capital Markets Pty Ltd (ACN 123 289 109) (trading as IC Markets) holds an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL No. 335692) to carry on a financial services business in Australia, limited to the financial services covered by its AFSL.

IC Markets (EU) Ltd - regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) under the CIF Licence No 362/18.

Raw Trading Ltd (Trading as IC Markets Global) - regulated by the Financial Services Authority of Seychelles with a Securities Dealer Licence number: SD018

Depending on the Client's country they will be able to register under one or more regulations.
