The prevalence among forex brokers to provide various trading platforms apparently not always followed by excitement among traders, as Alpari RU found out after offering Metatrader5 since early 2012.

Alpari Metatrader5

Yesterday (9/2), Alpari RU announced that demo accounts on Metatrader5 terminal will be terminated starting from March 1st, 2015. All demo accounts in the platform will be closed and traders will no longer be able to use it both via PC and mobile. Medias are quoting statements from an Alpari representative that revealed there is less than 1% of Alpari clients in Russia and CIS that used Metatrader5 as of early February 2015. Moreover, there are no Alpari real account clients in Russia and CIS that used the forex trading platform .

This evidence shows just how forex traders uninterested in the Metatrader4 sibling. Metatrader5 has been touted as a new generation of trading platforms and aimed to replace Metatrader4 by its developer, Metaquotes. However, despite of numerous upgrades on the terminal, interest on Metatrader5 stay low. Metatrader4 remains the most popular forex trading platform to date, while Metatrader5 seem to be struggling to gain even a fraction of interest its predecessor had.
