Regulated broker BDSwiss has made a huge donation to Elpida Foundation for Children with Cancer and Leukemia to help young cancer patients receive better treatment in the midst of pandemics.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, for the third time, BDSwiss is proud to support the Elpida Foundation with a charitable donation of €5,000. The funds will be used to provide financial and psychological assistance to families and children undergoing cancer treatment.
Established in 1990, the Elpida Foundation for Children with Cancer and Leukemia is an institution that provides psychological and financial support to pediatric cancer patients and their families by covering the costs of training doctors and nurses, as well as purchasing medical equipment needed for the Pediatric Oncology-Hematology Clinic at Bishop Hospital, Cyprus.
Helping Cancer Patients Impacted by COVID
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, treatment of young cancer patients, however, has deteriorated, with children experiencing cancellations, delays, and changes to their life-saving cancer cares. Not to mention the emotional and financial burden for the accompanying families.
Therefore, the role of institutions like Elpida becomes very important in providing support, treatment, and early diagnosis to children with cancer. Unfortunately, the Foundation relies on government funding and the generosity of corporate and individual donors. BDSwiss hopes that its contribution can help ease Elpida's work in supporting children with cancer and leukemia in Cyprus.
