Scammers are targeting Dukascopy's crypto traders by impersonating the company's website through the https://www.app-uplow.vip/dist/#/ domain.
Swiss forex broker Dukascopy warns clients against fake websites that have claimed false affiliations with its brand. The cloned entity operates through the https://www.app-uplow.vip/dist/#/ domain. Dukascopy insists on not having any relation with the platforms mentioned above and advises clients to avoid them altogether.
The Geneva-based company added that Scoin illegally used the name and logo of the digital currency Diascopy (Dukascoin) to attract clients/investors.
"Dukascopy Bank SA informs about its website’s fraudulent clone on the domain https://www.app-uplow.vip/dist/#/. Please be aware that this website is not controlled and does not belong to Dukascopy Bank, Dukascopy Europe, Dukascopy Japan, or any other entity of Dukascopy Group. Do not trust any information to be found on the website https://www.app-uplow.vip/dist/#/. Do not provide any personal data on this website," Dukascopy said.
The forex bank added that they would take firm action regarding this case. However, Dukascopy is not responsible for helping to recover funds if an unauthorized entity manages to deceive a client.
Now, Dukascopy's cryptocurrency business is becoming a significant focus in counterfeit corporate scams as the pandemic has made people more vulnerable due to concerns about personal finances. The company has taken steps to strengthen the security of its cryptocurrency offerings, including allowing clients to deposit and withdraw funds in digital coins and enabling free internal crypto transfers between mobile banking users.
