OctaFX has appointed Thomas Selby as Commercial Director, meaning he will initially serve the company to help in retail trading.

After leaving Cypriot forex broker OneRoyal in the position of Chief Sales Officer, Thomas Selby joined OctaFX. The company hopes that Selby's experience in the market will help OctaFX in expanding the range of offers, especially in retail trading. Previously, Selby worked at Trade EverestCM, a retail forex broker regulated by the Mauritius Financial Services Commission (FSC), as Chief Business Development Officer.

Selby is a veteran in the financial services industry. His career spanned more than 17 years. Prior to working at Trade EverestCM, he also served at IronFX.

Prior to IronFX, he spent most of his career in the foreign exchange industry with Exinity, which was launched in 2020 by entrepreneur, Andrey Dashin. The group is chaired by FXTM co-founder Olga Rybalkina and oversees various retail businesses owned by Dashin, including Alpari International, ForexTime (FXTM), and Exinity Capital East Africa in Nairobi.

Selby spent more than eight years at Exinity as head of the international business division. He also worked as head of sales from 2014 to 2020 after assuming the role of business development manager for Asia in 2013.

Selby's experience in the brokerage industry started at FxPro in 2007 as a customer support supervisor. Later, he joined the FIBO Group in 2010. Selby spent three years at FIBO and left in 2013 in a position responsible for leading the support, sales, IB, and back office departments.
