Senior marketer Manuel Barbero will take on the new role at IG as Global Head of Acquisition and Media.

After becoming Global Head of Media for Performance Marketing at IG Group, senior marketer Manuel Barbero has been promoted to become Global Head of Acquisition and Media.

The executive, who has about 13 years of industry experience, announced his promotion on LinkedIn. Barbero joined the FCA-regulated broker in December 2014 as Senior Paid Search Manager. This new position is his fifth role with this online trading service provider.

Before joining IG, the marketing leader worked for over two years at Covario (now i-Prospect), serving first as Associate Manager of Paid Media Services, and then as Manager of Paid Media Services for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Barbero also worked as Digital Marketing and Sales Manager for the London-based educational institution MBA Center between July 2011 and September 2012. Before that, he was the Coordinator of Digital Marketing and Logistics for a year at an international education company, EF Education First.

In other news, in terms of financial position, IG Group, which entered the online trading industry almost half a century ago, still remains the top brokerage firm today. At the end of the first quarter of fiscal 2023, which ended in August this year, IG Group's revenue jumped 11% to £241.8 million, up from £218.3 million in the previous fiscal year.
