A global social trading broker, eToro, has expanded its trading instruments by introducing the Israeli Shekel (ILS). Shekel can trade in pairs with USD, EUR, and GBP.

International broker, eToro, specializing in social trading, has expanded the reach of its trading platform by adding Israel's national currency, the Israeli Shekel (ILS), to the list of trading instruments. ILS can now be traded in pairs with USD, EUR, and GBP.

The New Shekel was introduced in 1985 and has been traded freely since 2003. According to data from the Bank of International Settlements (BIS), the Israeli Shekel (ILS) is the 23rd most popular currency traded in global markets. The shekel's global trading volume is comparable to Czech Koruna (CZK) and Turkish Lira (TRY).

Shekel has a long history of stability and performance, benefiting from Israel's current account surplus, large foreign exchange reserves, the Bank of Israel's years of independence, and generally stable local politics. Given the country's small, open, and trade-reliant economy, ILS is fully supported by the Bank of Israel, and the country's economic policies and large foreign exchange reserves have increased its value.

Expansion of eToro Trading Assets

This latest addition comes after eToro added European natural gas trading to its list of commodity assets to expand its list of trading instruments. EuroNatGas is one of the important energy sources in Europe, accounting for around a quarter of the EU's energy needs.

In addition, this leading social trading platform also lists non-leveraged Australian stocks (ASX listed), to be traded on the stock market for real, unlike CFD positions.
