Clare Francis was named as Non-executive Director at CMC Markets after 37 years of working at several leading financial institutions and joining several committees at the company.

Clare Francis, a financial veteran, was appointed Non-Executive Director with the London-based broker, CMC Markets. Apart from joining as Non-Executive Director, Francis is also a Chairman of the Group Risk Committee, Consumer Duty Champion, and a member of the Audit, Nomination and Remuneration Committee of CMC Markets.

James Richards, Chairman of CMC Markets, said he was delighted to be working with Clare because she has extensive knowledge of framework risk management and financial services. "Clare's presence will really help us as we continue to develop our diversification strategy," he said.

In her career, Francis is an expert in the financial industry with around 37 years of experience working in several large companies. She started her career at Natwest in 1985 and then moved to HSBC, where she spent 17 years. She later climbed up the corporate ladder at HSBC and held the position of Europe Head & MD of Financial Markets Sales when she parted ways in early 2006.

From February 2006 to November 2012, she joined Standard Chartered from Lloyds Banking Group and held leadership roles such as Global Head of Financial Markets (Sales) and Global Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking. She was Head of Global Company & Head of Global Global International when he parted ways with the company.

Most recently, she worked as Head of Global Banking in Europe and UK CEO at Standard Chartered Bank. She also served as Global Head of Investors, Insurance, and the Public Sector.

Currently, Francis also sits on the UK Department of International Trade's TAG board and the Export Infrastructure board.
